Airtel Price Increases for Prepaid Recharge and Postpaid Plans Announced | New Tariffs Effective July 3
Airtel's latest price increase comes shortly after rival Reliance Jio increased its costs by up to Rs. 600 on Thursday.
Airtel stated on Friday that it was changing the prices of its prepaid recharge and postpaid plans, with costs rising by up to 20%. The telecom operator noted that the higher pricing is part of its attempts to boost mobile average revenue per user (ARPU). The operator has announced that the prepaid and postpaid data plan pricing will be updated next week. The Airtel price increase comes only hours after rival Reliance Jio announced new tariffs on Thursday, raising the prices of its plans across the country.
Increase of Airtel Prepaid Plans
Once the new prices take effect, Airtel prepaid consumers must pay more to use the company's internet and voice plans. The telecom operator says it wants to grow ARPU beyond Rs. 300 to be profitable while investing in spectrum and network technology.
You can find revised prices for each plan in the table below. The annual recharge plans of Rs. 1,799 and Rs. 2,999 will increase by Rs. 200 and Rs. 600, respectively. It's worth noting that all prepaid recharge plans, except for the last three entries in the table, provide unlimited phone calls and up to 100 SMS each day.

Meanwhile, the Rs. 499 plan, which includes 75GB of data as well as Xstream Premium, Disney+ Hotstar, and Amazon Prime subscriptions, will be increased to Rs. 549.
Two other postpaid options will be increased, according to the telecom operator. The Rs. 599 plan, which includes two connections and 1005GB of data, will be priced at Rs. 699, while the Rs. 999 plan, which includes four connections and 190GB of data, will be priced at Rs. 1,199.
